June 21-22 AHRMA / Michigan Engineering Historic Cup National Roadrace Series Grattan Raceway Park, Grattan, MI Located close by to Grand Rapids, this road course is 2 miles long with a 3,200-foot straightaway, 160-degree hairpin turn and downhill reverse-camber turn. Combined with the park-like setting and traditional Saturday-evening barbecue, this one is an AHRMA Midwest favorite. The track will offer a Friday practice day. Gates open at 7:30 a.m., and practice will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break. For more information, contact the track at 616-691-7221. Bruce Blake of Michigan Engineering Inc. will be at Grattan all weekend to provide trackside assistance with suspension setup. On Saturday evening after dinner he will host an open Q&A session on suspension, carburetion, engine tuning, tires and any other racing topic that participants are interested in. He will be set up at the entrance to the lower paddock. Directions: From I-96 take Exit 52 (Alden Nash Road) through Lowell to Lincoln Lake Road north to Belding Road (M44, about 15 miles). Turn west on Belding into the town of Grattan (1 mile). Turn right in Grattan onto Lessiter Road, and the track is a short distance on the left. |
